First Day of 2nd Grade!

Yup....hard to believe our little girl is starting 2nd Grade! Only, she's not so little anymore. She was just measured at the doctors reaching heights of 52 1/2 inches. I know! She is super tall, super cute and super smarty pants rolled into one. We are so proud of her and are looking forward to a really great school year. Her teachers name is Mrs. Graves and she has gobs of energy which will be fun. She was so excited to start school and couldn't wait to say goodbye to Mom and Dad. Yeah, it's tough to swallow, but we know she loves us :)

Morgan's 7th Birthday!!!!

We can't believe our beautiful Morgan is actually 7 years old!!! She had a wonderful day that began with opening presents from Grandma/Grandpa Scott and Grandma/Papa Carbine and Mom and Dad. Later we had her party at Girlfriendz with some friends from school and her cousin Allie. We had an awesome time getting makeovers, singing and dancing on the stage to High School Musical 3, opening presents and eating a very beautiful lime green cake that Morgan selected. It was a wonderful day and we are so grateful for the wonderful girl that she is!

Tahoe Camping Trip

We had an amazing camping trip with the Bills in southern Tahoe. We went to this place called Fallen Leaf. The campsite was huge and to my surprise had a bear box. Yeah, you heard me right. We had to put all of our food in the bear box at night. You couldn't even leave anything in your car because they are known to tear the door off your car. Hmmm. We had a visit from a mother bear at 9pm which sent Chad into a tizzy. Manly men can make girly noises! At night you could hear them sniffing around the campsite. It was beautiful and the lake was crystal clear and freezing, but the kids were determined to play in the water. Awesome trip and can't wait to go again next year!

4th of July - Happy Indepedence Day!

Wow...what a great country we live in! Amidst the struggles that our country faces, we are so blessed to live in this great land and to have our freedoms. We enjoyed the 4th of July with a BBQ in the backyard and the lovely Lincoln Fireworks in the back of Dad's truck with Morgan's cousin Brook and Jake. (Just listing people other than our typical 3 some.) Not sure why we don't have any pictures of Dad....hmm. Happy 4th!

When life gives you lemons.....

We had the awesome experience of having our first Alex's Lemonade Stand! According to Morgan, "It was a really fun experience, and that we can't wait to do it again next year!" It is a wonderful charity, raising money for pediatric cancer research. Find out more about Alex and her story! We raised over $900 if you can believe that. Neighbors and local residences of Lincoln came out in great numbers to support us! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! We love you Alex and we love to support Alex's Lemonade Stand.

New Puppy Jake

Here's our new little hell in a handbag. Did I just say that?? Alright, he's not all that bad if you like cleaning up poop, pulling out burrs, triping at any given time unexpectedly, having toilet paper ripped up all over the house, etc, etc. Ugg. Given all that, he is now part of the family. Welcome Jake. Here's to lots of outside time :) Morgan absolutely loves her little dog....that is, when he's not chewing on her barbies hands or taking off with one of her Polly Pockets!

Morgan The Bear

Morgan had the amazing opportunity of being in her 1st grade school play called "Lost". She tried out and got the part of the Bear. She did an amazing job, spoke her part very clearly with lots of animation! We were so proud of her, although she does not want to be called "bear" anymore she says. :) Thanks to a Youtube video I was able to do a semi decent job on her makeup!

Brooke's Baptism

We had the amazing experience of coming down for Brooke's Baptism. It was a special day and the spirit was so strong. I'll never forget the special experience of sitting next to Amy and hearing her sing "I am a child of God." We're proud of your Brooke and hope that you always remember how you felt on your baptism day.

Southern California

Morgan and I flew down for Brooks Baptism in Southern California. Grandma and Papa drove out from Utah and picked us up at the Airport. We had the "dream" of sharing a hotel room with them and had the time of our lives swimming in the pool with a lot of Morgan's nieces and nephews. They swam for hours! Show in the pictures is Amy, Joseph and Holly. Taylor, Kelsey, Camryn, Brooke and Audrey and of course Morgan.

Easter Cookie Decorating Contest

And the winner is......."drum roll, please." Everyone!!!!!!! You all decorated the most beautiful cookies I have ever seen. Too hard to choose just one when they were all fabulous! We had so much fun and cookies were too die for thanks to Kim :)

Morgan in action...

Morgan, entering her 3rd year of softball (last year of T-ball) has really grown into a little athlete. She rarely misses a hit off the pitch and looks like a natural out there. She is still without a jersey, but that's okay. We added her to the team so late that it is still at the printer. I think she really enjoys being the oldest on the team this season.
